Stanhope Company was founded in Los Angeles in 1951, soon to become a leading interior contractor for the area. The company provided tenant improvements and renovated many of the city’s historic buildings, developing superior construction techniques, expert workmanship, and seamless procedures.
Stanhope Company continues to cultivate relationships with architects, building owners, and loyal clients in the commercial tenant improvement industry throughout Los Angeles and surrounding counties.

Historical Timeline
Over 70 Years of Experience In Construction
Founded by Robert (Bob) Stanhope. Building spec homes in Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, and enjoyed steady growth and success.
John Gaudino took the company in a new direction retrofitting the brick and mortar buildings in downtown Los Angeles with air conditioning. Construction of office space in buildings such as Union Bank and City National Bank.
New interior construction in West LA including in Arco Towers and Figueroa Corridor Business Center, Security Pacific Bank Tower at Bunker Hill, and ultimately the total renovation and high-rise construction in the financial district.
Operations expand to new business centers in Irvine, Century City, West Los Angeles, Universal City, Woodland Hills, and Long Beach.
The restoration of buildings with great architectural merit that had virtually been abandoned: Oviatt Building, Fine Arts Building, Wiltern Theater, Chapman Park Market, and many others. Stanhope expanded its expertise in seismic retrofits and fire sprinkler, modern life safety systems and the operation of our own cabinet shop.
Construction downturn led to office remodels, downsizing, base building modernization (including fire, seismic, life safety, and ADA retrofits), and some specialty projects.
Prestigious projects at California airports including LAX, John Wayne, Long Beach, and Burbank, for leading airline companies: American Airlines, Virgin America, and Alaska Airlines, to name a few.
New developments in Safety practices, Building Energy Efficiency and Title24, and use of Eco friendly Green products, Stanhope seamlessly adapted to a new era in the construction industry.
Stanhope continues to perform tenant improvement construction services across the Los Angeles basin, alongside a distinguished and diverse group of clientele, and architectural and engineering firms.
